Bhubaneswar, July 7 (LocalWire): After relaxation of testing norms by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a number of private testing labs have now started testing samples to screen Coronavirus in Odisha.
According to the ICMR, the state has a total of 26 Coronavirus testing laboratories spread across the state.
This also included seven private laboratories which came up recently in the state.
The demand for private labs surged in the state in the light of more need for testing for Coronavirus as many patients and doctors started feeling the need before conducting surgeries while many citizens too wanted to be tested against the viral disease.
The ICMR has now empowered the private doctors too to prescribe Coronavirus testing for patients.
However, unlike the 19 government testing labs which are spread across the state, private labs are mostly clustered only in the state capital.
AMRI Hospital, SUM Hospital, Apollo Hospital and other private labs have now started offering the services of Coronavirus testing in the state.
