Berhampur: March 26 (Localwire): Many complaints of model code of conduct violations on C-Vigil app registered in Ganjam district turned out to be bogus, a poll official said on Tuesday.
While the district administration has received around 25 complaints so far through the C-Vigil app, 20 of these were found to be fake, said nodal officer Chakravarti Singh Rathore.
He added that it’s because some people try to test the election commission’s app by posting irrelevant complaints after downloading it.
The poll body had launched the app for the convenience of people to lodge election-related complaints, like violation of model code of conduct and illegal cash and liquor distribution to influence voters etc.
Meanwhile, the administration has asked the cinema hall owners to take prior permission before screening any advertisement of political parties or candidate in the theatres before the show.
In this regard, Collector Vijay Amruat Kulange has held a meeting with the owners recently. He said that candidates must take permissions for ads in TV, newspaper, radio, and social media etc.
