Bhubaneswar, Mar 18 (Local Wire): The state government in their daily update on Coronavirus Wednesday informed the media that it has registered a total of 2131 entries in last 48 hours from foreign travellers who recently came from outside countries.
State Nodal Officer Subrato Bagchi said that through the web registration portal and the 104 helpline in the last 48 hours a total of 2131 persons coming from foreign countries registered with the government after it was made mandatory for them.
This included 5202 calls received through 104 helpline.
It was also revealed that the state has been receiving close to 80 calls per hour through such registration systems.
On the other hand the panel of designated officials for the update also said that most of the persons who came from outside the country include travellers from UAE which was close to 20 per cent followed by United States which reported 9 per cent of registered travellers.
The officials said that very few people came from vulnerable countries like China and Italy. It also said that from China there was zero entry.
The officials also said that most of the persons returning from foreign countries hailed from Khurda, Cuttack and Puri and the maximum were Bhubaneswar.
Registration of foreign travellers were seen from 29 out of 30 districts.
There was no registration from any person from Malkangiri district.
Officials also said that most travellers are below 60 years of age who are often less vulnerable to severe case of Coronavirus.
