Sambalpur, July 26 (LocalWire): Mayurbhanj district police are in a quandary after a woman who was pronounced dead earlier was found to be alive. The arrest of two persons on charge of the woman’s murder has added a twist to the unsavory episode.
Two of the suspected assailants are now languishing in jail on charges of murdering a woman who was traced from Cuttack city yesterday.
With two innocents being booked for an offence which they did not commit, Badampahar police are now in a tizzy.
‘It has been a slipup on our part. The body of a woman identified as Raimani Bankira was retrieved on 27 April.
Local police arrested Sanjay Naik and Mangal Naik and charged them of murder.
Since the deceased has been found alive now, we will pray to the court for their acquittal.
The case regarding the unidentified body will now be reopened,’ said Askok Kumar Patnaik Additional Superintendent of Police, Mayurbhanj.
