Bhubaneswar, Aug 7 (LocalWire): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved rationalisation of 905 posts in the police department.
“The CM has approved the rationalisation for strengthening the police stations for better crime control and efficient delivery of citizen centric service,” a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.
According to the government, the rationalisation will pave way for creation of six new police stations in various districts of the state by bifurcation of existing police stations.
The CMO said that the existing police stations will will be bifurcated for new police stations included-khandagiri Police Station (PS)-Bhubaneswar, Angul Town PS, Jharsuguda Town PS, Bhanjnagar PS (Ganjam), Bhadrak (Rural) , Bhadrak and Tihidi PS in Bhadrak.
This rationalisation is said to strengthen 220 police stations and six outposts in 21 police stations of the state.
