Bhubaneswar (LocalWire) July 15: Taking another step to drive growth and development of Odisha, the state chief minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Sunday asked his party MPs to update him of the issues raised by them in Parliament and submit a report on the steps taken by them to resolve them.
In a letter to all BJD Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs, Patnaik stated that he will review these reports regularly and give suggestions on ways in which the MPs can work for the development of Odisha and the welfare of its people..
The BJD president has asked his party MPs to submit a report every two months by the 10th of the month, beginning of August this year.
Patnaik also congratulated the women BJD members in the Lok Sabha for their initiatives in the letter and said he was touched by the way the women MPs had raised various issues regarding the state’s interest in their recent speeches.
This is the fourth advisory from the BJD president in the last two months after he took over as the chief minister of the state for the fifth consecutive time.
While the chief minister had sought monthly report from all Odisha ministers on the steps taken by their departments for implementing the BJD’s election manifesto, he also asked the first-time legislators and his cabinet colleagues to be polite and remain connected to the ground.
Similarly, in a recent meeting Patnaik had asked his cabinet colleagues to undertake extensive tours in their constituencies to get direct feedback from people about the various schemes of the government and the pace of implementation of development programmes in the state.
