Jagatsinghpur, September 25 (local Wire) BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has authorized Local MP Kulamani Samal to upheld party’s interests at Paradip assembly constituency after the expulsion of local MLA Damodar Rout.
The responsibility to Samal was given after the party’s meeting in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
The meeting was presided by the BJD party observer Prafulla Samal, a minister at Patnaik’s cabinet.
The minister was the observer for this crucial party meeting where Pratap Jene acted as the co-observer.
Supporters of axed MLA Rout pressed for the removal of Paradip district BJD unit chief Bisnu Das.
Interestingly, a majority of Rout’s supporters switched to the Local MP’s camp to avoid any disciplinary action from the party high command.
At the meeting, it was unanimously decided to make party’s Mahila Samabesh at Kujang a grand success to prove that expelled MLA Rout became redundant at the assembly segment well ahead of the ensuing poll.
The Samabesh will be held on September 30.
