Bhubaneswar, May 29 (Local Wire): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday completed his first year of his fifth term as the CM of Odisha.
He was sworn in as the CM of Odisha last year on May 19 after getting a thumping majority in the State Legislative Elections conducted along with the General Elections of 2019.
According to sources in the party, Naveen or his party would not celebrate the success with much fanfare due to the COVID 19 threat and lockdown curbs.
However the CM is likely to address a meeting of the ministers.
During the one year term, the Naveen government added the new elements of 5T and Mo Sarkar in the governance system and to boost transparency and accountability.
Within its one year of governance it was baffled by the restoration works post Fani while two other cyclones-Amphan and Bulbul also hit parts of the state, causing destruction.
It is now fighting against its war against the global health disaster of Coronavirus.
Restoring infrastructure, reviving ailing business and industries post lockdown and maintaining the state exchequer will be the new challenges the Naveen Patnaik government as Coronavirus is likely to have deeper implications of several sectors of the state economy.
