Bhubaneswar, Oct 27 (LocalWire) Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik will celebrate Diwali with the children at SOS village in the evening.
The shelter home of destitute and orphan children, on the city outskirts here, is abuzz with activities with Patnaik deciding to join the inmates for observance of the festival of lights.
“The chief minister will pay a visit to SOS village and spend some quality time with children and on the occasion of Diwali”, a release by the Chief Minister’s office said.
Patnaik had alsoadvised the Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) and officers in the CMO to visit child care institutions and celebrate the festival with children, the statement said.
The district collectors have also been directed to join the children in the orphanages and shelter homes in their respective districts for observance of the festival, it added.
Similarly, the director general of police and all senior police officers including superintendents of police (SPs) have been advised to spend time in battalions and celebrate Diwali with jawans and their family members on the day.
