Bhubaneswar, Sept 25 (LocalWire): Odisha Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro after conducting the all party meeting to finalise the modalities for the Monsoon Session today spoke about the new rules of proceedings.
Patro said that the timing of the proceedings has been reduced and every day the proceedings would continue for 4:30 hours starting from 10:30am with lunch break in between.
As per the new rules there would not be any Question Hour and the Assembly will start with a Zero Hour.
The Assembly has ensured sitting arraignment of MLAs to ensure social distancing while it has also asked MLAs who want to present in the sessions online to attend it virtually.
Chief Whip of BJD Pramila Mallick today claimed that the treasury bench has put 12 Ordinance for passing while it has geared up for the other legislative business too.
Congress party leader Narasingha Mishra however termed the removal of Question Hour from the Session as illegal and expressed displeasure over the move.
The political parties earlier in the day met under the chairmanship of the Speaker to chalk out the modalities for the Monsoon Session starting from September 29.
