Paradip, Jan 6 (LocalWire): Several new migratory birds were spotted in the waterbodies here during the census held here today.
Enumerators sighted as many as 38 different species of 27,600 birds that have come here for their annual winter sojourn.
White Eye Pochard, Grey Plovers were spotted by a team of bird watchers led by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Rajnagar, Manas Kumar Das. Hundreds of people including school children also attended a symposium on avian species and their migration pattern.
Deputy General Manager (corporate affairs), PPL Sudhi Ranjan Mishra said, ‘The number of winged birds from foreign countries to PPL plant waterbodies have increased every year This shows that there is less pollution at the plant site and PPL has preserved the environment very well.’
