Jagatsinghpur, Sept 4 (LocalWire): District police has launched a massive drive to check vehicles under all police limits and have collected Rs 1.14 lakhs as fine after implementation of the new vehicle rules.
Frequent accidents and traffic jam have worsened the situation in different areas of Jagatsinghpur district.
The vehicles are being checked in areas where the frequency of accidents, violation of traffic rules, tariff jam is more.
Strict measures have been initiated against violators of motor vehicles amended Act.
CCTVs will be installed in different locations in Jagatsinghpur Municipality to detect offenders.
Superintendent of police, Prakash R, said most of the traffic violators were found to be related to riding two wheelers without helmet under Section 177 MV Act. Total 212 vehicles were detained.
