Rourkela, Dec 27 (LocalWire) Asmita Chihnara, a final year student of Computer Science and Engineering department of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NITR) set a new record by bagging a job with a whopping package of Rs. 41 lakh per annum, through campus placement.
Besides the personal achievement of Asmita, NITR also set a new record in placement this year with total placement figure through campus recruitment crossing 1000, against earlier figure of 700-800.
Besides, the about 43 Ph.D students of the premier institute also got placement through campus recruitment this year.
According to a NITR release, Asmita Chihnara, a final year student of Computer Science & Engineering of NITR received the coveted offer of Rs. 40.63 lakh per annum from Adobe System India Pvt. Ltd.
Asmita is a native of Cuttack but resides at Bhubaneswar with her parents.
She had done her schooling from Saraswasti Sishu Mandir, Bhubaneswar and plus two science from Rama Devi College, before joining NITR.
Asmita being a student of Odia medium school, her success over other students received appreciation.
“Besides the blessings of my parents and God, I attribute hard work and dedication for my success,” said Asmita. “But, I consider the real challenge for me would be to deliver the responsibility after joining the company.”
According to a NITR press release, due to the efforts of the training and placement department of NITR, a total number of 237 recruitment drives from about 212 companies were organised this year at the campus, for full time employment for the final year students of different stream.
“A total number of 1016 job offers were received in the campus placement drives out of which 777 were boys and 239 were girls,” the release said.
“While the B Tech and M Tech students used to get recruited every year, the Ph D students in bulk got the offer through campus placement this year,” the release said. “As many as 43 PhD students from NITR got the offer through campus placement this year.”
