Bhubaneswar, December 30 (LocalWire) Cold wave condition continues to sweep across Odisha with the mercury dipping below ten degree Celsius in 16 places of the State since past 24 hours.
Subarnapur, a district situated on the western parts, continued to be the coldest place for 2nd day in succession with night temperature plummeting to 5.4 degree Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Centre, there will be no change in minimum night time temperature during next 72 hours across the State.
Subaranapur was followed by Angul, which recorded a minimum temperature of 5.6 degree Celsius, the Meteorological centre here said.
The mercury stood at Phulbani- 6.3 degree, Titilagarh- 6.5 degree, Daringibadi- 7 degree, Keonjhar- 7.4 degree, Bolangir- 8.5 degree, Balasore- 8.5 degree, Sundargarh- 8.5 degree, Sambalpur- 8.7 degree, Jharsuguda- 8.9 degree, Bhawanipatna- 9 degree, Koraput- 9.2 degree, Talcher- 9.4 degree, Baripada- 9.4 degree, Cuttack- 9.5 degree.
The mercury stood at 10.6 degree Celsius in state capital Bhubaneswar, while neighbouring Cuttack city recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5 degree Celsius. The port towns of Paradip and Gopalpur in recorded the highest night temperature of 13.5 degree Celsius and were the hottest places amid biting cold elsewhere, it said.
