Bhubaneswar, Mar 19 (Local Wire): Twin city police commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Thursday clarified that neither the police department nor the state government has issued any orders to vacate the tenants living on rent.
Sarangi clarified the stand of the government when some students approached him online on social media sites and complained about their landlords asking them to vacate their premises citing an alleged order from the Commissioner office.
This comes after the threat of Coronavirus looms large in the country.
“No direction has been given either by the police or the state government asking house owners to vacate tenants to prevent COVID 19 outbreak.
The individual has admitted his mistake.
We are looking into legal action,” Sarangi said.
According to a fake letter distributed to the house owners of Acharya Vihar was stated that following the orders of Police Commissioner all house owners should ask their student tenants to vacate their rented houses to prevent the spread of COVID 19.
