Puri, Dec 29 (LocalWire) Ending an impasse, daily rituals and darshan of deities at Puri Srimandir are underway on time on Saturday.
According to Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the Singhadwara opened at 5.25 am, while the Mangala Alati was performed at 6.40 am on Saturday, a day after rituals and darshan were delayed by over 12 hours due to a standoff between police and servitors.
“All rituals are being conducted on time and as per order. Devotees will get Mahaprasad inside the shrine,” said a SJTA official.
Scores of devotees barged into Puri Srimandir breaking the police barricade on Friday as ‘general darshan’ was halted following a dispute between police personnel and servitors.
Security personnel had a face-off with the servitors on Thursday evening over entry of two devotees in the temple.
Servitors kept the main gate of the temple closed on Friday protesting alleged police atrocity.
Rituals, including the Mangala Alati of the deities, were delayed.
The SJTA held talks with the servitors to call off the protest and join in the daily rituals.
