Bhubaneswar, Oct 9 (LocalWire): In-charge of Odisha Congress A Chellakumar today in a press conference here rejected any thoughts of change of guard in the Odisha Congress.
Chellakumar has been recently nominated by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) as the in-charge of Odisha Congress, replacing the incumbent Jitender Singh.
The Lok Sabha MP today held his first press conference in the new post.
Speaking to the reporters, he said, “I don’t find this a good idea of changing a single person. It is unlikely to work.
We need to rectify our mistakes and we will work towards this,”
He also added, “The poor performance of our party in the state was due to the lack of marketing skills we used unlike the BJP or the BJD. We will try to market and showcase our achievements in front of the people.”
The Congress leader also attacked the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the BJD for depriving the people of the state of development and timely industrialization.
“I am proud to say that during the Congress government, the state saw sugar industries and several other development works. The state is now struggling on sugar industries, irrigation, infrastructure and development. Crimes are rising in the state too,” he said.
