Bhubaneswar, Feb 7 (LocalWire) Police Officers’ Association, Police Constables’ Association and Sipahi Association have warned of a joint strike if their demands are not met in the next 24 hours.
At a press conference called by the association, the cops demanded correction in 7th Pay Commission, health insurance of Rs 5 lakh, house rent, monthly stipend of Rs 1200 for medicine, Rs 1500 as stipend for bike, uniform maintenance charge, travelling allowance, dwelling allowance and House Rent Allowance (HRA) to all police staff.
“We will work wearing a black badge if demands are not met in the next 24 hours and if government continues to ignore our plea, we will go on strike,” a police official said.
“As many as 62,000 police staff will work wearing a black badge on Thursday. Police will return all their weapons and will go on indefinite strike from Feb 8,” the association declared.
