Jagatsinghpur, September 2 (LocalWire): Human beings are part of the environment and are influenced by it and its destruction has impacted the human society in a big way, said participants of the discussion on ‘Environment for Spiritual Development’ organised by Nilachal Sarswat Sangh (NSS) in Balikuda yesterday.
The delegates attending the spiritual discussion also highlighted that the time has come for moral and spiritual commitment to protect the environment and god’s creation.
The forum that was organised on the eve of 69th Utkal Pradeshik Bhakata Samilani of Shri Shri Thakur Nigamananda was attended by intellectuals, educationist, environments, and experts.
The meeting was presided over by the NSS president Gaganendra Nath Mohapatra. Prominent among those who attended the discussion were Swami Chidananda, educationist Mahendra Kumar Acharya, environmentalist Utkal Ranjan Mohanty, NSS secretary Brahamananda Behera, Kalapatru Senapati, Sudhir Lenka, and advocate Bira Narayan Patra.
The participants touched upon different topics including, the balance of environment through ‘nam, sankiritan, and mediation’; ‘influence of western education and culture on the environment’; ‘environment and spiritualism’; and similar other issues.
The participants also opined that religion has an important role to play which is vital to sensitise human beings to think and act better.
“It is unfortunate that the modern generation has no time to go through religious thought, books, culture because they are busy with mundane enjoyment. This directly affects our environment. This discussion will have a direct impact on all section of people, especially the young generation,” the experts stated.
It may be recalled that the 69th Utkal Pradeshik Bhakata Samilani of Shri Shri Thakur Nigamananda will be organised by NSS, Puri at Balikuda Sakha Sangh in the first week of February 2020, which will be attended by nearly 15,000 devotees from different parts of the state.
