Bhubaneswar, August 13 (LocalWire): Odisha government on Thursday ordered compulsory retirement for former director of AYUSH Bibhu Prasad Sadangi about a month after he was arrested on the charge of sexually harassing a contractual woman employee.
Sadangi, an Odisha Administrative Service officer was arrested on July 9 after the victim alleged that he was pressuring her to have a relationship with him.
According to the complaint, he was also sending obscene and objectionable text messages and videos.
“The conduct of Sri Sadangi towards a subordinate lady employee, prima facie constitute an act of personal immorality and violation of conduct of rules,” the state government said in a statement.
“The government after careful consideration and in line with the policy of zero tolerance of any act of immorality by any of its employee, howsoever important he might be has ordered compulsory retirement of Sri Sadangi from government service with immediate effect,” the statement said.
