Berhampur, Dec 28 (LocalWire) Classroom teaching in Odia medium schools will soon be available on smartphone in Ganjam district.
The Ganjam administration has started preparations to record best teaching of different subjects in primary classes of Odia medium schools and make them available soon on YouTube and WhatsApp.
“The online teaching system though smartphone for Odia medium students in the district will be available by the end of February,” said Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
It would be rolled out in an experimental basis for the primary students of Class V and VI in the first phase, he said.
The idea for online teaching through the smartphone was mooted by the collector himself.
As most of the students are now cell phone savvy and mobile phones are available in almost all households, this type of online learning will be helpful to the students for their home studies, the collector said.
“This would also help the students make up on classroom teaching through mobile phone, if he/she remains absent in the particular class,” said Kulange.
The collector has asked teachers to make recordings of their best teaching sessions, for uploading on YouTube and sharing on WhatsApp.
“Not only students of Ganjam, it will also be shared with students of other districts, so that they are benefited as well,” he said.
Ganjam District Education Officer (DEO) Sanatan Panda in the first phase, they want to roll out subjects like science and mathematics in the primary classes.
It would be extended to other subjects and classes in subsequent period.
