Bhubaneswar, Feb 6 (LocalWire): Noted Odia film director Chakradhar Sahu passed away on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar.
He was 55.
Sahu was reportedly suffering from a long-term autoimmune disorder (Rheumatoid Arthritis).
Sahu rose to fame directing classic Odia films like ‘Nila Mastrani’, ‘Kebe Tume Naha Kebe Mun Nahin’, ‘Tumaku Paruni Ta Bhuli’ and ‘Mimansa’.
He had received ‘Best Editor’ award for his films ‘Nila Mastrani’ in 1996, ‘Kebe Tume Naha Kebe Mun Nahin’ in 2011 and ‘Sukha Asuchi’ in 2014.
Sahu was also awarded as ‘Best Director’ for the film ‘Tumaku Paruni Ta Bhuli’ released in 2007.
Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik joined the Odia film fraternity in mourning Sahu’s demise.
