Bhubaneswar, Dec 9 (LocalWire): The most sought-after singer in the Bollywood, Shreya Ghoshal, says she enjoys singing for regional language films and will consider if she gets a chance for Odia songs.
Singer of the iconic “Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai” Shreya was in Bhubaneswar to perform on the 8th evening of the ongoing city festival ‘FEST’ on Saturday.
The National Award Winner enthralled the audience by her feminine voice.
Chit-chatting with LocalWire the singing sensation said, while other regional languages are making their space, Odia music needs more promotion to make its presence felt in the global platform.
The ‘Bepanah Pyaar Hai Aaja’ singer said greenery of Odisha capital has highly impressed her.
“I have come here before, but this time the city looks more beautiful,” she said praising the wall decoration from Airport to her hotel.
The singer expressed her love for Odisha handlooms and handicrafts and said: “I have plans for shopping in the city taking time out of the busy schedule and buy handloom sarees.
I have heard about Odisha’s Puri, Konark and would like to visit the monuments if time permits she said adding she liked Odia food in the hotel – dal and pomfret fish curry”.
Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali spotted Shreya on the stage of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and offered her the opportunity to lend her voice for ‘Paro’, the lead female character of his 2000 film Devdas played by Aishwarya Rai.
She has lent her voice for various regional languages including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Meitei.
