Bhubaneswar, April 9 (Local Wire): Odia Samaj, a not-for-profit organisation comprising Odias living in New Delhi has now come forward to extend their helping hand to the distressed Odias living in Delhi NCR.
The volunteers of the organisation are now helping the Odias living in the national capital with legal aid, food to the deprived and other assistance.
The distressed Odia migrants are now provided with dry ration, which is being distributed on daily basis since 30th March, at vantage points like Jagannath mandirs, other temples, school buildings and community centres in the needy communities.
Close to 3250 economically deprived Odia families in Gurgaon, Manesar, Faridabad, Bhiwadi, Ghaziabad, Noida , Greater Noida, Aya Nagar, Uttamnagar, Peeragarhi, Kotla, Nangloi, Tughlakabad besides other areas in Delhi have already been provided dry ration so far by the volunteers during the lockdown.
It is also helping with legal assistance to ensure the Odias living in the region are not vacated out of their houses due to non-payment of rents during the critical period against the orders of the local administration.
