Berhampur: Feb 19 (LocalWire) A 27-year old Odia software engineer from Berhampur has been stranded in a ship at Yokohama in Japan for the last 15 days, his family said on Wednesday.
The ship was denied permission by the Japanese Government due to Coronavirus, which was spreading as an epidemic in several countries.
Sibasish Nayak, is a software engineer in a Delhi-based Software Company, was one of the crew members in the Diamond Princess, the ship stranded off coast Japan.
The reason for his visit was for official purposes.
“We are very worried about Sibasish’s health due to unavailability of Indian food in the ship”, said his parents.
Lingaraj Nayak, the standee’s father has requested the CM on social media for the safe return of his son.
“My son has been tested negative of the deadly disease. Out of 3700 members on the ship, some have been tested positive to the coronavirus”, he said.
‘The Delhi-based software company had assured us the return of Sibashish by 19th February but no steps were taken” he said.
MP (Berhampur) Chandra Sekhar Sahu has written a letter to the external affairs minister S.Jaishankar urging him for intervention of the union government for the safe rescue of the stranded Odia engineer.
