Bhubaneswar, Nov 17 (LocalWire) TV viewership in Odisha is growing faster than the national average in the last three years, said Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Partho Dasgupta.
Growing number of good local content has led to increasing viewership and that has made Odisha the third fastest growing TV market, with Bihar and Jharkhand at the first and North East/Sikkim at the second positions respectively.
“Odia content is certainly doing well and we see a good future,” Dasgupta said at the recently-held ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave in Bhubaneswar.
As per BARC sources, TV penetration in Odisha has grown 15% between 2016 and 2018.
Dasgupta said TV ownership in Odisha grew 12% versus the national growth of 7.5% within that period.
