Bhubaneswar, July 13 (LocalWire): The Odisha government today allowed home isolation for asymptomatic Coronavirus patients and for patients who develop mild symptoms against the viral disease.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy today held a press conference and informed the media about the new decision.
He said that the government has taken the decision keeping in mind the recommendations of the Union government and WHO.
He said that as per the new protocol, all such patients without comorbidities can opt for home isolation and the COVID Hospitals could be used for critical cases only.
However, people with diseases like HIV, kidney, transplant, liver, and other diseases besides the elderly cannot opt for the facility.
He said that this would be applicable in urban areas including divisional, sub divisional and block headquarter towns.
“All Coronavirus positive cases who are asymptomatic/have mild symptoms and have no co-morbidities in urban areas including urban local body areas, district , sub division and Block headquarter towns shall be allowed home isolation,” the notification said.
It also added, “…subject to assessment of availability of all protocols for home isolation laid out by the Health Department,”
