Bhubaneswar, November 16 (LocalWire): The state government on Saturday approved investment proposals worth Rs 1,753.82 crore under its single window clearance system.
The investment proposals are likely to generate employment opportunities for over 5,500 people, both in the skilled and unskilled categories, a senior government official said.
The decision was taken at a state-level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) meeting that was chaired by chief secretary Asit Tripathy.
Accordingly, the government agencies and line departments have been asked to assess the requirement of land and water for these industrial units, sources said.
Besides, the concerned departments were also asked to work out a model benchmark, and do the needful for the land required for the approved industries in consultation with technical experts.
The proposals approved in SLSWCA included investments in textiles, food processing, plastics, tourism, steel, and steel downstream.
The single-window clearance system is a facilitation mechanism aimed at creating an investment-friendly ecosystem in Odisha.
