Bhubaneswar, May 11 (LocalWire): After the devastating Cyclone Fani, Odisha residents are now in the grip of a massive heat-wave, as the day temperatures soared to over 40 degrees Celsius in 11 districts.
Titlagarh, Sonepur and Sambalpur have recorded the highest temperatures, with 45.5, 45.4 and 45.1 degrees Celsius respectively, according to the MeT department.
Similarly, Jharsuguda, Malkangiri and Hirakud recorded the maximum temperatures of 44.8, 44.4 and 44.1 °C respectively.
In Angul, Talcher, Sundergarh, Baripada and Keonjhar, the temperature soared to 42.1, 41.8, 41.5, 41.4 and 41.0 °C respectively.
The heat-wave will continue to prevail in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Nuapada for the next 24 hours, the MeT department said.
