Bhubaneswar, Dec 4 (LocalWire): The higher education department has decided to install biometric machines at all government and aided colleges in Odisha, informed a minister.
Odisha higher education minister Ananta Das said the decision has been taken to keep a track on attendance and punctuality of lecturers and employees.
The machines will be installed at all 52 government and 488 government aided colleges across the state.
However, no deadline has been issued on completion of the project. The biometric machines will be installed in phases.
The department has started granting money for installation of the biometric machines.
At least 70 colleges have started the installation process, said B Parameswaran, Director, higher education.
