Bhubaneswar, March 16 (LocalWire) Odisha on Monday directed people returned from foreign countries to the state after March 4 to register with the state government in 48 hours starting from tomorrow.
The move comes a day after coronavirus infection found in an Italy returned professional in the state capital, the first in the state.
“Those who are already here since March 4 they will have to register and we are giving them 48 hours effective from tomorrow 6 am” chief secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy said.
“ There is no choice for anyone who has come from aboard, those who want to come into the state from now onwards have to register either within 24 hours of the arrival in the state or before,” he said.
They have to register with the government toll-free number 104 or the online portal https://covid19.odisha.gov.in .
For doing this they will be given an incentive of Rs.15000 and they would undergo 14 days of home quarantine.
This will help the state government in tracking persons who are already inside the State, sensitise them about home isolation and keep a watch on their health for effective monitoring of the situation and medical advice.
Anyone not complying with these regulations will be punishable under the provisions of Indian Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code.
