Bhubaneswar, Dec 15 (LocalWire) Odisha will be awarded for producing surplus food grains in 2016-17.
Odisha Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy said the state has been chosen
for the ‘Commendation Award’ under the ‘Total Food Grains Category II’ for 2016-17.
“We have received a letter from Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh about the same. We thank the Centre for encouraging our farmers,” said Maharathy.
The state will receive Rs 1 crore and a citation at ‘Krishi Unnati Mela’ to be held in early next year.
