Bhubaneswar, June 24 (LocalWire): The Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Harsh Vardhan today made public the National Tuberculosis (TB) Report 2020 in New Delhi.
The report claimed that Odisha is home to a total of 53,612 TB cases.
The report claimed that the majority of the TB cases in the state are reported from the men which contributed close to 67 per cent of the total cases.
The report also claimed that Odisha has seen a cure rate of 80 per cent among the patients living with TB while the death rate stands at 5 per cent.
The National Report also claimed that a total of 98 per cent of the TB patients know their HIV status too.
The government claimed that out of the total 53,612 TB cases in the state, 22,383 (42 per cent) are from the tribal community in the state.
The report claimed that 98 per cent of the notified TB patients have been put on treatment too.
