Jagatsinghpur, March 2 (Localwire): Justice Akhaya Kumar Rath, the chief justice of the Odisha High Court, on Saturday inaugurated a family court in the district headquarters here.
In his address, Justice Rath said, “Advocates are in a noble service, so they should be gentle, well mannered, punctual and patient.”
The ceremony was also attended by HC justice Pramath Patnaik, district judge Rabi Narayan Mishra, member secretary of Orissa HC Tanmaya Kumar Mohanty and the newly appointed judge of Jagatsinghpur family court, Jeevan Yoti Rath.
Justice Patnaik said: “It is a historic day as we open the first family court in Jagatsinghpur. It will provide justice to women and children and protect their rights.”
Others who attended the event include collector Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, superintendent of police Sudha Singh and president of district bar association Rajkishore Behera.
