Bhubaneswar, May 27 (Local Wire): Several aggrieved hotel owners who are suffering losses due to the imposed lockdown and not yet allowed to open their centres have now approached the government for help.
The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) on Tuesday approached the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) seeking their permission to open hotels and restaurants for people who are seeking accommodation and food.
“After the flights were opened for the state we are getting a lot of queries for accommodation.
The government has also allowed paid quarantine in hotels.
We thus request you permit us to provide them accommodation,” JK Mohanty, Chairman of HRAO said.
The hotel owners said that many people who are coming for official works for one-two days are struggling to get accommodations while many housing societies are also not permitting them to the houses of their friends and relatives in leading urban areas.
According to the central and state lockdown order hospitality sector has been put under the mandatory barred category.
