Bhubaneswar, Jan 28 (LocalWire) Odisha is all set to avoid any eventuality of Coronavirus, health secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal said on Tuesday.
After conducting a meeting with all the chief district medical officers and medical officials here, the secretary said the government has asked the airport authorities to hold a screening of the passengers coming to Biju Patnaik International Airport.
The state government has also asked major hotels to ensure that the tourists from China should give self-declaration concerning the virus.
The Health Secretary also said a suspected case of Coronavirus has been identified in Odisha’s Kakatpur area.
A youth, who recently visited China, has returned to Odisha with symptoms similar to that of the Coronavirus which has already killed several people in China.
While special wards have been opened up at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, a blood sample of the suspected person will be sent to Pune.
It may be noted here that a total of 4,565 people have so far been detected with the virus. The virus has already claimed at least 106 lives in China.
