Bhubaneswar, July 31 (LocalWire): The state government today lifted the existing lockdown curbs imposed in the state and announced new rules for “Unlocking Odisha”.
Under the new ‘Unlock’ which will be implemented through the month of August, the government increased the fines levied against violations of Coronavirus related rules like not wearing masks, not maintaining social distancing and others.
“For the first two instances in case of not wearing masks a fine of Rs 1000 will be imposed while for multiple offences it will be increased to Rs 5000.
Similarly for violations of rules for marriage ceremonies a fine of Rs 10,000 will be levied,” Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena talked about the new guidelines which will govern the new unlock rules.
Salient points of the unlock for August are as follow-
Lockdown in containment zones to continue.
Some activities barred everywhere like-religious congregation, mass congregation, swimming pool, educational institutions
Exams and official works in educational institutions can go on but not classes.
Yoga centre, gyms to be opened from Aug 5 as per central government protocol.
Weekly shutdown to continue for Ganjam, Cuttack, Gajapati,Khurda districts.
Night curfew to continue from 9pm to 5am every night.
For Aug 1, Aug 2 weekly shutdown in hotspot districts to come into force from 1pm.
