Bhubaneswar, Nov 30 (LocalWire) Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik has said the state is gradually turning into an education hub for higher studies and research.
Addressing a workshop on “Internationalization of Higher Education” organized by the Department of Higher Education here, Patnaik said: “I am happy to see that Odisha is gradually becoming a hub of imparting knowledge at par international standards with our excellent private, central and state higher education institutions.”
“In the past few years, the state government is continuously bringing great reforms to ensure quality equality, access and inclusivity of higher education,” he said.
Pertinently, the Odisha government has opened five new Universities, eight new Model Degree Colleges, while six more Model Degree Colleges will be opened shortly.
“We have formed the State Higher Education Council and two additional Regional Directorates have also been opened,” said Patnaik.
“With perseverance and commitment, higher education in Odisha will be truly internationalized and we will be able to make Odisha a quality higher education hub of the country,” said the chief minister.
The Department secretary Bishnupada Sethi, minister Ananta narayan Das among many others who graced the occasion.
