Bhubaneswar, Aug 16 (LocalWire): The state government today said that the state reported its highest single day rise of 2924 cases on the Independence Day.
Several districts reported a massive rise of the cases on August 15. Khurda reported the highest ever single day rise of 488 cases alone while it was followed by Ganjam which saw 318 new cases.
The other districts which reported higher cases included-Jajpur (200 cases), Cuttack (189 cases) and Balasore (127 cases).
The government claimed that out of the new cases, 1815 cases are from quarantine centres and 1109 cases are from local contacts.
All the 30 districts reported the new cases. The government on the other hand claims to have conducted a total of 9,08,508 total tests while the state also is home to 18,928 active cases. It has also seen recoveries of 40,726 cases.
