Bhubaneswar, May 26: The State Excise Department said that on the first day of operations of home delivery of liquor, a total of 8420 orders for liquor were fulfilled by the foreign liquor outlets across the state.
The State Office of Excise Commissioner said that home delivery of liquor was started in 29 districts of the state.
It also said that 672 ON/Off shops started participating on the home delivery of liquor in the state.
“A total of 9440 bulk litre of foreign liquor and 10689 bulk litre of beer were sold through home delivery today.
Cuttack, Khurda and Sundargarh are the top three districts in terms of number of orders delivered,” a statement from the office said.
The state government also said that food aggregators and delivery service operators like Swiggy and Zomato who were given No-Objection Certificates (NOC) to operate in Odisha are in the process of tying up with the retailers and are expected to start their operations from today.
