Bhubaneswar, May 3 (LocalWire): Odisha’s Shalini Sheetal of Mother’s Public School, Unit-1, Bhubaneswar, scored 98.2% in the science stream making her the state topper.
The results were declared on Thursday noon and can be checked at cbse.nic.in
The State topper Shalini thanked her parents and her teachers for guiding her throughout. She has scored 488 marks out of 500.
She said she would take up Computer Science next, expressing her interest to pursue engineering.
Meanwhile, The state schools also achieved 100% success in all the streams as another girl named Ishita Patnaik of SAI International School has emerged topper in commerce stream by securing 97.2%.
However, Hansika Shukla of DPS, Meerut Road-Ghaziabad and Karishma Arora of NC Public School from UP have jointly secured the first position in Class XII CBSE examinations at the national level. Both the girl scored 499 out of 500 marks each by scoring 99.8%.
Girls have performed better (9 per cent more) than boys. The pass percentage of girls stood at 88.7 while that of the boys 79.40. In all, 17,693 students scored in excess of 36 per cent and 94,299 above 90 per cent, said a CBSE statement.
Notably, the overall pass percentage is 83.4 as compared to 83.01 per cent in 2018, a rise of 0.39 per cent.
