Bhubaneswar, Dec 3 (LocalWire) Odisha government will go for fresh auctioning of iron and manganese mine blocks, whose lease validity ceases by March 31, 2020, officials said on Tuesday.
The government had earlier floated tenders earlier on October for the auctioning of 20 mines.
However, the tender notice invited earlier has been withdrawn. Notice for the fresh bidding process will come out on December 6 next, a senior official of the Department of Steel and Mines said.
The Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) and the High-Level Committee (HLC) which monitors the auctioning process had decided in favour of fresh auctioning, he added.
The successful bidders will have mining rights of fifty years over the leased out mines.|
Those who applied in the earlier bidding Notice Inviting Tenders which now stands annulled will get back the bank guarantees, he said.
Odisha is enriched with more than 50 percent of iron ore reserve in the country.
Currently, Odisha has 17 operational merchant mines whose approved production capacity is estimated at 80 million tonnes.
