Bhubaneswar, August 5 (LocalWire): Fulfilling the chief minister’s electoral promise of driving development in the area, the state government has announced that it will be setting up an industrial training institute (ITI) at Bijepur in Bargarh district.
According to a notification issued by the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, the ITI will be established from the state plan budgetary allocation.
“To strengthen ITI training facilities at the block level and facilitate skill training for local youths, the government is pleased to sanction the establishment of an ITI at Bijepur block,” the government notification signed by the Department secretary SK Singh stated.
It may be recalled that the Biju Janata Dal president Naveen Patnaik had contested the assembly election from two seats – Bijepur and Hinjili – and won both based on his promises of development in the area.
However, he had later vacated the Bijepur seat.
