Bhubaneswar, May 11 (LocalWire) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday urged the centre to modify existing schemes to incentivise and actively involve Panchayat Raj institutions in Covid Management.
“As the fight is going to be long, it is important that we involve Panchayats for a system based response” the chief minister said.
“A smaller, scientific unit may be used to replace the district for zoning, and the local administration should be allowed to decide said area” Patnaik suggested the prime minister during video conferencing today.
He has also asked the Union Government to come up with a National Standard Operating Procedure, which shall guide a unified response in rebooting the economy.
Patnaik also wants the movement of Railways be regulated in consultation with the States.
