Bhubaneswar, May 12 (LocalWire): The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Cell has notified that in view of the pandemic situation, the second/Special O-JEE examination will not be held this year; instead, a Special Entrance Examination shall be held for admission into BTech government and private colleges across the state.
Generally, the first OJEE exam is held in May every year, followed by the second special OJEE exam in July.
As this year, NEET and JEE Mains are scheduled to be held in July, the OJEE Cell has decided that only the first OJEE exam will be held and that too in July.
The BTech exam for OJEE applicants used to be held with the second exam; however, because of the cancellation of the second exam, the OJEE Cell has decided to conduct a Special Entrance Examination for admission into Government as well as private BTech colleges in the state.
The application process has begun from 12.05.2020 and will be open till 31.05.2020, while the online fee payment shall be valid till 05.06.2020.
The detailed schedule regarding revised dates for downloading of admit cards and of the examination will be notified in due course of time, after assessment of the situation after 17.05.2020, the notice said.
Students who have already appeared for the JEE Mains exam in January, or are going to appear in June need not apply for the OJEE SEE, as first preference during counselling shall be given to JEE Main rank holders.
It may be noted that the first preference for admission in BTech courses shall be given to JEE Mains merit list candidates, while the counselling for the OJEE-SEE shall be done for the vacant seats left over after 1st phase counselling.
