Berhampur, April 18 (LocalWire): Three people were arrested today for the murder of a 35-year old man at Kadalijhara village in Ganjam district on Wednesday night. Another person is absconding.
On the eve of the elections in the village under Sorada Assembly segment in Aska Parliamentary constituency, the victim was hit on the head with a bamboo after a heated argument over political parties got violent.
After preliminary inquiry, police said neither the accused nor the deceased were active members of any political parties but during the argument, the deceased, Santosh Pati, advocated for the BJP while the accused argued in support of ruling BJD, inspector in charge, Sorada police station, Parvat Sahoo.
Irritated over Pati’s remark, the three accused suddenly hit him with a bamboo. Though there was no external injury, he fell unconscious.
