Bhubaneswar, June 15 (LocalWire): An online workshop on “Design Thinking” was conducted in Bhubaneswar by the Odisha Design Council, which is the first time a workshop of this nature has been organized in Odisha, the ODC said in a release.
While the workshop was conducted by the former Professor of National Institute of Design and the founder of Odisha Design Centre Prof.
Paresh Choudhury, Canada-based internationally acclaimed Interaction Designer Thomas Girard too joined in with his inputs in International trends on Design Thinking and User Experience.
Almost twenty students from various institutes like IIT-Bhubaneswar, CET- Bhubaneswar, Delhi Technical University, BK College of Art & Craft (BKAC), Industrial Design Center (IDC) of IIT-Mumbai, Indian Institute of Craft & Design participated in the contest, among others.
Mumbai based celebrity Designer and three-times Limca Book of Record holder Kanika Bawa was also one of the participants.
The ODC emphasized that given the current economic situation owing to COVID-19 and the Prime Minister’s urge to become “Atmanirbhar”, organizing such workshops to promote Design Thinking in India is the need of the hour.
Organisation of such workshops, especially in Odisha, will help attract people’s attention towards the state in terms of modern ideologies, the ODC said.
Prof. Choudhury has determined to put Odisha on the design map of India and of the world eventually, it added.
