Bhubaneswar, Mar 18 (Local Wire): The state government has now instructed the private hospitals in the state to open dedicated COVID centres on their hospital premises to cater to the needs of suspected cases of Coronavirus (n-COVID 19).
The decision has been taken keeping in the mind the likely chances of more suspected case and more people in distress approaching health centres for check ups and knowing their status relating to the global pandemic.
The government claims as per the latest regulations issued for Coronavirus, the private hospitals have been asked to work together with the state government on the issue and follow the medical protocol on the issue.
They have also been asked to ensure isolation wards and stock of essential drugs and other items needed to manage the disease and thwart the chances of infection from the infected patients to others.
The government on the other hand claimed that a total of 540 beds in isolation wards across the state in government hospitals are ready to cater to the needs of the pandemic.
All District Headquarter Hospital (DHH), the seven medical colleges, Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar and SCB Medical college in Cuttack have been equipped with isolation wards and other facilities to address the suspected cases of Coronavirus.
