Jajpur, April 25 (LocalWire): A Dalit teenager was allegedly gang-raped by two men, including a relative of a BJD leader, on Wednesday night in Jajpur district. The victim’s father filed an FIR in this connection today in Sukinda police station.
BJP supporters on Thursday protested at the police station demanding the arrest of both the accused.
‘The 19-year-old’s father reported that his daughter was forcefully kidnapped by Sabyasachi Behura of Sukinda from a shop on Wednesday afternoon to a private institution at Dhabalagiri.
Here, the son-in-law of a senior BJD leader and the accused gang-raped her. The victim was later dropped to her house.
The victim was medically examined and her statement has been recorded,’ said Bichitra Nanda Sethi the IIC of Sukinda police station.
Police filed a case against both the accused persons under section-376(g) (gang rape), section 557 (Assault or criminal force in attempt wrongfully to confine a person), section 342 (wrongful confinement), section 506 (criminal intimidation) and under the provisions of SC and ST Prevention of Atrocity Act. 1989, added the police officer.
Police has formed a special team to arrest the accused who are absconding.
