Bhubaneswar, Feb 13 (localWire) The Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has won the champion’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 after winning the 15th power cup title in a cricket tournament among power utilities held recently.
Principal Secretary, Energy department Bishnupada Sethi handed over the prize to the winner at a function.
“Like cricket, all the power utilities should work in a team for the betterment of the power sector of the state, Sethi said.
The OPTCL won the match by 25 runs against the SOUTHCO. The OPTCL, after winning the toss, decided to bat first and scored 132 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 6 wickets whereas the SOUTHCO scored only 107 runs with the loss of 9 wickets.
Abhay Mallick from the OPTCL won the man of the match title for scoring 63 runs in 45 balls.
Mallick was also awarded with the man of the series title for outstanding performance in the entire tournament.
Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (OHPC), Ramesh Chandra Mishra, CGM Finance, Gopal Chandra Pati, CGM Construction, Prabodh Kumar Mishra among others were present at the tournament.
